Spiti Valley Exploration – Start from Chandigarh
Day 1: Arrival in Chandigarh – Transfer to Narkanda
Your adventure begins in Chandigarh, where you will be greeted by our representative. From here, set out on a scenic drive to Narkanda, a charming hill town surrounded by dense forests and apple orchards. En route, enjoy the beauty of the Himalayas gradually unfolding before your eyes. After reaching Narkanda, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, take a leisurely walk to the Hatu Peak viewpoint or simply unwind in the serene mountain atmosphere. Overnight stay in Narkanda.
Day 2: Narkanda to Kalpa via Sarahan
After breakfast, check out and continue your journey toward Kalpa, one of the most picturesque villages in Kinnaur. En route, stop at Sarahan to visit the famous Bhimakali Temple, known for its unique architecture and spiritual aura. As you drive further, the landscape transforms into rugged mountains and deep gorges. Arrive in Kalpa by evening and check into your hotel. Enjoy magnificent views of the Kinner Kailash range from your room. Overnight stay in Kalpa.
Day 3: Kalpa to Tabo – Entering Spiti Valley
Wake up early to catch the golden sunrise over the snow peaks. After breakfast, set out for Tabo, crossing the stunning Sutlej and Spiti river valleys. Drive past villages like Pooh and Nako, where you can stop to visit Nako Lake, reflecting the surrounding mountains like a mirror. Continue your drive to Tabo, often called the ‘Ajanta of the Himalayas’ for its ancient monasteries and murals. Check in to your guesthouse and spend the evening exploring Tabo Monastery. Day 4: Tabo to Kaza via Dhankar and Pin Valley
Post breakfast, drive toward Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley. En route, visit the historic Dhankar Monastery perched dramatically on a cliff, offering panoramic views of the valley. If time permits, take a detour to Pin Valley National Park, famous for its rich wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. Arrive in Kaza and check in to your hotel or guesthouse. In the evening, explore the colorful Kaza Market. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 5: Kaza – Key Monastery and Villages Exploration
Today, immerse yourself in the spiritual and natural wonders of Spiti. Visit the iconic Key Monastery, the largest monastery in the valley, and spend time interacting with the monks. Continue to the remote village of Kibber, one of the highest inhabited villages in the world. You can also explore Hikkim, which has the world’s highest post office, and Langza, known for its giant Buddha statue and ancient fossils. Return to Kaza for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Kaza to Chandratal Lake
After breakfast, check out and drive toward the mesmerizing Chandratal Lake, also known as the Moon Lake. The journey is adventurous, with rugged trails and mountain passes, including Kunzum Pass. Reach the lake by afternoon and marvel at its turquoise waters set against towering peaks. Spend time soaking in the beauty of this high-altitude gem. Overnight stay in camps near Chandratal under a starlit sky.
Day 7: Chandratal to Manali – Return to Civilization
Wake up to a magical sunrise over Chandratal. After breakfast, begin your drive to Manali, crossing the challenging Rohtang Pass (subject to weather conditions). Arrive in Manali by evening and check in to your hotel. You can relax after your adventurous journey or take a stroll through Mall Road. Overnight stay in Manali.
Day 8: Manali to Chandigarh – Departure
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Chandigarh, bringing your unforgettable Spiti adventure to a close. On arrival, we will drop you at the airport or railway station for your onward journey, filled with memories of the mountains and the spirit of Spiti.
