Day 1: Arrival in Leh – Welcome to the Land of High Passes
Your unforgettable adventure begins as you arrive in Leh, the capital of Ladakh, where you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day resting and acclimatizing to the high altitude (3,500 meters). In the evening, take a short walk around Leh Market to experience the local culture and shop for Tibetan handicrafts. Day 2: Leh Sightseeing – Monasteries and Heritage
After breakfast, set out to explore some of Ladakh’s most beautiful monasteries. Begin with Hemis Monastery, the largest in Ladakh, famous for its rich history and golden Buddha statues. Next, visit Thiksey Monastery, a stunning complex resembling Tibet’s Potala Palace. Continue to Shey Palace, once the summer residence of Ladakhi kings. Return to Leh by evening and relax. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley – Over Khardung La Pass
Post breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (5,359 m), one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Stop at the pass to admire the panoramic views of the Karakoram Range. Descend into the enchanting Nubra Valley, where you can visit Diskit Monastery and the giant Maitreya Buddha statue. In the afternoon, explore Hunder’s sand dunes and, if you wish, enjoy a Bactrian camel ride. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.
Day 4: Nubra Valley Exploration – Turtuk Excursion
After breakfast, take a scenic drive to Turtuk, the last village on the Indian side of the border and one of Ladakh’s hidden gems. Explore this unique Balti village, known for its apricot orchards and friendly locals. Return to your accommodation in Nubra by evening. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.
Day 5: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake – The Turquoise Jewel
After breakfast, set out toward Pangong Lake via the picturesque Shyok route. Arrive at Pangong Lake (4,350 m), famous for its incredible blue waters that change color with the sunlight. Spend the afternoon walking along the lake shore and taking in the surreal landscape. Overnight stay in camps by Pangong Lake.
Day 6: Pangong Lake to Leh – Across Chang La Pass
Wake up early to see a spectacular sunrise over the lake. After breakfast, drive back to Leh via Chang La Pass (5,360 m), one of the highest mountain passes in the region. En route, stop at the picturesque Tangtse village and visit the Druk White Lotus School (the “3 Idiots” movie school). Arrive in Leh by evening and relax. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 7: Leh to Tso Moriri Lake – High-Altitude Serenity
After breakfast, drive to Tso Moriri Lake, a hidden gem located at 4,522 meters. The route takes you through Chumathang Hot Springs and remote Changthang Plateau. Arrive by afternoon and admire the crystal-clear waters surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Explore the nearby Korzok Monastery and meet the nomadic Changpa herders. Overnight stay in camps by Tso Moriri.
Day 8: Tso Moriri to Leh – Return Journey
Enjoy a quiet morning by the lake. After breakfast, begin your drive back to Leh, retracing the beautiful high-altitude roads. Arrive in Leh by afternoon and spend your last evening at leisure, exploring Leh Market or relaxing in a café. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 9: Departure from Leh – Farewell to Ladakh
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable memories of Ladakh’s dramatic landscapes, monasteries, and timeless Himalayan charm.
